This talk was presented for the Pennsylvania State Beekeepers Conference, November 8th, in State College Pennsylvania.
Honeybee aggressiveness is not typically a problem. Most bees are quite docile; even enough to work them in a T-Shirt and Veil.
Sometimes however they can ratchet up the aggression, even to the point of being dangerous.
This talk shows how bad it can get – and when it gets bad, how to euthanize a hive.
Other times you may intercede to resolve aggression. We share several tactics to address an aggressive hive as well as techniques for management practices to get the job done while protecting yourself and others.
